In approximately 1969 Aladdin UK introduced aluminum table and fount model 23 lamps. These lamps were manufactured at the Greenford, England factory and were not sold in North America. Starting in 1969 the table lamp version became the face of lamp instruction sheets for English manufactured lamps.
The bowl and foot were polished stamped aluminum under clear paint. The common stem is black plastic. Some lamps have a white plastic stem.
The burners on most of these lamps are English made model 23 burners.
At the end of 1975 some steel model C Brazil burners were shipped to the UK to be reworked so that they would burn better. The reworked burners were given a new wick adjuster cover that just said "Aladdin". Most of these burners were shipped to America to sell on American made aluminum lamps. Some of these reworked burners were placed on this table lamp base and shipped to South Africa to be sold.
In the mid 1970's Aladdin UK manufactured aluminum lamps for the Aladdin South Africa sales region that used the same stem and base as the UK aluminum table lamps . |
